Photographing insects allows me to share with others the hidden beauty of the insect world. Insects have always fascinated me. As a child I was mesmerized by the crawling motion of woolly bear caterpillars as I held them inside a jar. When I first peered through a microscope and saw the magnified textures and colors of insects I knew I would pursue a career involved with these animals.
Since 1982 I have worked in insect research laboratories, earning a Masters Degree in Entomology from Clemson University in 1987. Currently I am a laboratory manager at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.
